Basic TV hanging is a relatively straightforward process that involves only a few steps. We recommend not trying to hang a TV yourself, especially if you’re unfamiliar with using power tools, as this can damage your wall. If a mount isn’t tightly affixed to the wall, you risk breaking your TV and damaging your wall. Even basic TV hangs are a two-person job, especially if the TV is larger than 55 inches.

Although wood framing with drywall is the most common wall type to mount TVs, we can hang yours on any surface, including concrete, brick, plaster, or quartz. Most brick walls are above fireplaces, but we advise against placing your TV there to prevent heat and smoke damage. Mounting TVs on complex surfaces requires knowledge and experience to ensure the job is done correctly.

Consider pre-wiring your home for TVs and audio equipment during the construction phase. Pre-wiring a room for these will make your life easier in the future if you add or upgrade your current components. It also conceals the cables and wires behind the wall to provide a tidy appearance.
